Sue Blount is our new general manager, managing the 35-strong fleet of buses and around 100 drivers, engineers and support teams.
Sue joined our sister company, trentbarton, in 2008 to train as a driver and went on to manage the bus station concourse at Derby before becoming service delivery manager first in Derby and then at Langley Mill.
Tom Morgan, director of service delivery for us and trentbarton, said: “Sue has always had a passion for developing and leading a team and is uncompromising when it comes to delivering high standards.
“The role here at Kinchbus will give Sue the opportunity to excel. We are a well-known locally run business and we’ve seen growth on a number of routes. This is a great chance for Sue to build on our current strong performance, developing the network and making the most of opportunities that arise."
As well as ensuring the network of services is run as efficiently as possible and punctually as possible, Sue will oversee the skylink Derby route which connects Derby, Loughborough and Leicester to East Midlands Airport.
Sue said: “I want to keep progressing professionally and I want Kinchbus to keep improving what we do for our customers, making sure we stay as Loughborough’s finest. The sky is the limit."
Sue, who did office jobs when she was younger applied to be a bus driver after seeing a trentbarton advert: “I just went for it and found myself driving the red arrows and helping promote the launch of mango.”
“I loved being a bus driver and then being a lead driver and going on to be a manager. It has all been interesting and now I’m here I look forward to the challenge of tackling something completely different.”
