From Sunday 3 February contactless payments will be available on skylink Derby.

Contactless is a quick, easy and secure way to pay for your travel. 

Just tap on at the start of your journey, and tap off before you leave. Simple. You'll be charged a single journey for each trip, and with our day & 28 day cap in place your fares will be limited no matter how often you travel in skylink Derby. 

You'll also be able to make contactless payments when purchasing any tickets or Kinchkard up to the value of £30.

You can also use contactless and contactless payments on your mobile devices. 


changes to Kinchkard on skylink Derby

Due to our ticket machine upgrades, from Sunday 3 February all current Kinchkards will no longer be valid to use on skylink Derby. They will still be valid on other Kinchbus services

But don't panic, up until this date your current Kinchkard will still be valid. Here is how you can travel with us from Sunday 3 February;

travel contactless

This is a quick, easy and secure way to pay for your travel. Just tap on and off with your contactless card when you travel. Your fares will be limited by our 28 day caps depending on where you travel. The 28 day caps will be the same price as a 28 day Kinchkard. 

get a new Kinchkard 

Our new Kinchkards will work exactly the same, with identical products and prices. 

Here's how you can get a new Kinchkard before Sunday 3 February;

  • Our skylink Derby drivers will be handing them out with an information leaflet until Sunday 3 February.
  • We'll be holding roadshows across the route where you can grab a new Kinchkard and ask your questions to our team.
  • If you've already got an online Kinchkard account, look out for our emails where you can order a new Kinchkard to be posted to your home address.

 

When you have a new Kinchkard, use our handy transfer tool. This will automatically transfer any remaining trips or days from your current Kinchkard on to your new Kinchkard on Sunday 3 February.

 

Between Sunday 27 January and Saturday 2 February you won't be able to top-up or buy Kinchkard products for skylink Derby online or on bus. Instead, you'll have the option to purchase a 7 day paper ticket on skylink Derby. The 7 day ticket will still be valid for travel after Sunday 3 February and can't be refunded.

Start using your new Kinchkard. Your current Kinchkard will no longer be valid to use on skylink Derby. 

From this date you will be able to top-up your new Kinchkard online and on the bus. If you've misplaced your new Kinchkard, don't worry, you can buy a new one from the driver and top-up on the bus. 

 

transferring or refunding trips 

When you have a new Kinchkard, use our handy transfer tool. This will automatically transfer any remaining trips or days from your current Kinchkard on to your new Kinchkard on Sunday 3 February.

Don't worry, if you don't register online we'll still be able to transfer the remaining trips on to your new Kinchkard or refund them back to you, just contact us

Please have both Kinchkards ready. Alternatively, we can send you out a new Kinchkard with the remaining trips on but this would take longer.
